Military and the Truck Driving Industry

Jul 4, 2019

Commercial truck drivers are in high demand, and military veterans transitioning to civilian life can find comfort in the structure and atmosphere of a truck driving career. Our drivers are expected to be reliable, dependable, on time, and willing to work when the job calls for it. Here at Sisbro, we acknowledge the importance of these qualities in veterans and offer flexible schedules, home time, 100% paid family health insurance, and the choice of lanes or routes to show our appreciation to our drivers. We will help make your progression from military life to civilian life easy and manageable.

Not only will we help you adjust, but the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) offers programs to qualified military drivers who want to earn their CDL. Military licenses may be exchanged for a CDL in the event that a qualified military driver is exempt from the knowledge test for a CDL. This is included in the Even Exchange Program (learn more about the qualifications HERE).

In addition to the Even Exchange Program, the FMCSA provides a Military Skills Test Waiver Program and funding to CDL training for several educational institutions. A variety of programs exist to help military veterans achieve stability in their civilian lives by keeping the scheduled structure of a career. In addition, military personnel serving in the Reserve or National guard can drive and serve our country at the same time.

At Sisbro, we value the leadership, discipline, and safety training military personnel have to offer. If you are a veteran or currently in the Reserves or National Guard, check below or click HERE for a full list of benefits Sisbro can offer you. Drive where you matter.
